Campaign Launch: BeltLine for All

  • Peoplestown Revitalization Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

HJL is holding a community event to launch our BeltLine for All campaign! Come out to learn about issues of housing affordability and displacement surrounding the BeltLine development and join us in standing up and pushing for policy that will protect the long-term, low-income residents of Atlanta.

BeltLine for All seeks to create spaces that center resident voices and promote community engagement in the development process, and to ultimately ensure that the benefits of the BeltLine be for all of Atlanta’s population. Since June we have been doing community outreach and research in neighborhoods along the BeltLine’s path, primarily on the Southwest and prospective Southside trails. The research looks at the impact of current and future development on housing affordability and the displacement of long-time residents through in-depth interviews and surveys.

We are bringing residents and partners of the impacted communities together to help organize around a collective action campaign, and we would love for you to get involved and support us in this effort.

Press Rally: BeltLine for All

  • 68 Mitchell Street Southwest Atlanta, GA, 30303 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This is a separate event than the BeltLine for All campaign launch (Oct. 16)! The press rally is to get the word out through the media about our BeltLine for All report and collective action campaign. We will hold a press rally outside City Hall and we are inviting community members to come ask questions and show support. We will tell city politicians and candidates that the continued displacement of historically disinvested communities is immoral and the people will not allow it.
